Free 1-on-1 Adult Tutoring
The Amador County Library offers free one-on-one tutoring to help adults with everyday reading, writing, and digital skills. Tutoring can help you get a better job, prepare for GED/HiSET or high school diploma programs, fill out forms, pay bills, study for a driver license, read mail and health information, and move at your own pace.
๐ Requirements:
- Be at least 16 years or older
- Not currently enrolled in high school or another degree-granting program (e.g., a standard high school or college program)
- Seeking help for your own literacy goals
How to Sign Up:
- Complete the Adult Literacy Program Application. Need help or assistance? Call (209) 332-7803 or email the Literacy Coordinator directly.
- Applications will be processed within 5 business days
- If approved, applicants will be contacted to schedule an in-person meeting to discuss goals and next steps
This program is designed for adults who:
- Want to improve basic literacy skills
- Learn best with individualized support
- Are preparing for employment, further education, or everyday tasks
- Are not quite ready for a formal class or testing environment
