Fall Reading Challenge

Visit any library branch to pick up a spooky fall-themed bingo card. Complete a fall activity or read a book that fits one of our spooky themes to earn a bingo. Every bingo gets you a raffle ticket towards several autumn-themed prizes, including a set of 4 VIP tickets to “The Haunt”, generously donated by the Preston Castle Foundation. The Fall Reading Challenge runs until October 13.

StoryWalk

In collaboration with the City of Jackson and the Jackson Cemetery, the StoryWalk encourages readers of all ages to enjoy a story and the outdoors- pages from a children’s picture book will be displayed along an outdoor path. The story for this walk will be “The Little Old Lady Who Wasn’t Afraid of Anything”- a delightful, fall classic with a fun, positive message for all ages. The StoryWalk will begin in front of the Jackson Library and wind its way through Detert Park into Jackson Cemetery. The storyboards will be displayed Monday through Friday from 9am to 4:30pm until October 31.

Ofrenda

Join us in celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)- a tradition that celebrates life and connects families to their ancestors. The Jackson Library will have a community ofrenda where community members are welcome to bring items (such as a photograph or object) in memory of loved ones who have passed away. The ofrenda will be on display through November 3.
