Elizabeth A. Nelson and her husband Dennis moved to Amador County in 1987.  

Liz set-up and managed several medical practices within the county from 1991 – 2008 while raising their three children.  In 2008, she began her career with the County of Amador in the Public Health Department, transferred to the Auditor’s Office and joined the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Department in 2011.  Liz was the Treasury Technician for several years then became the Chief Deputy in 2015.  Michael E. Ryan retired February 2021 and Elizabeth was appointed interim Treasurer-Tax Collector to complete Mr. Ryan’s term.  In June of 2022, Elizabeth was reelected as Treasurer-Tax Collector.

I am honored to serve as your Treasurer-Tax Collector in Amador County. My main responsibilities are oversight of the County's banking and investment activities, along with tax collection activities.

My goal is to provide quality services in the most conservative and professional manner to support Amador County's vital local government services, tax payers, residents and treasury customers. It's a privilege to be your Treasurer-Tax Collector, and I take my oath and responsibility to serve the County of Amador seriously.
