Lawn and Garden Replacement Program - RESIDENTIAL

The Lawn and Garden Replacement Program provides incentives to qualifying applicants for the replacement their old combustion-powered equipment with zero-emission battery-electric equipment from eligible merchants and vendors. The District is currently implementing this program for Residential Lawn and Garden Equipment Replacement projects only. All projects approved for funding must meet the CARB and Amador Air District's program guidelines. The current Carl Moyer guidelines are CARB's 2024 Guidelines and can be reviewed and downloaded from CARB's website:  Guidelines. 

Total funding will be limited to $10,000 per applicant for each Program year. Maximum incentive amount may not exceed total cost of eligible purchase including taxes, fees, charging cord and additional batteries.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS? 

1. Apply for one or more incentives using the application form below and submit to your local Air District.
2. If approved, your local Air District will issue you an incentive amount for each piece of equipment to be replaced.
3. Within 30 days of purchasing new equipment, surrender old combustion equipment to the Participating Recycle Facility (Republic Services - Ione or Pine Grove) to be scrapped.
4. Purchase your new zero-emission lawn and garden equipment.
5. Submit completed application along with pictures of old equipment, proof of purchase, and signed destruction form.
6. Air District will reimburse applicant qualifying incentive amount.  Please allow 4-6 weeks.
